To celebrate the towns 50th year as a city, the community came together to build one of the outstanding veteran’s memorials in the state: the one half acre George A. 6th Street, a major roadway in Norco, is lined with red, white and blue stripes and, hanging from Horse Town USA street lights are banners displaying those who have and are currently serving in the United States military. Once dubbed “Acres of Neighbors”, Norco still retains a strong feeling of community and it residents are enormously patriotic. The city is also home to the Silverlakes Equestrian and Sports Park: now under construction and soon to be the largest such venue in the northern hemisphere. And Norco High Friday Night Football is a long standing tradition. And, the community is a proud Navy town because the Naval Surface Warfare Center, established upon the site of the old historic Norconian Resort, calls Norco “home”. Many major retailers such as Hobby Lobby, EZ-up, Target, Tractor Supply, Ford and unique mom and pop businesses are currently thriving in the community and note that many have a required hitching rail near the front door. The town motto is “City Living in a Rural Atmosphere”, and Norco certainly lives up to that name. Ingalls Equestrian Event Center consisting of two covered arenas and home to the largest and longest running all volunteer fair in California: the Norco Fair.
